This new feature is going to change the way you use instagram forever! Instagram now lets you upload photos and videos from your desktop!
Starting today, we can all post photos and videos from our computers (laptops and desktops).
Usually we’ve only been able to post from our phones, but everything has changed today! We have given you a detailed tutorial on how to post from your computer in the photos above.
This most recent update to Instagram that is rolling to everyone today, October, 21st 2021, has made it even easier for you to post updates.
This is How to Post on Instagram from Your PC or Mac:
So, now that Instagram is letting you upload photos and videos from your desktop, let’s review how you can post in just 5 simple steps:

CLICK NEW '+'
Log in to Instagram's desktop website and click on the new ‘+’ button next to your DM send option.
click on select from computer
To add an image or video from your computer, just click on ‘Select from Computer’ in the New Post interface that now appears or drag and drop the image/ video to this page. The most recent update to the site has made it even easier for you to post updates.
choose Image size
Now you can choose to crop your image so it will fit the desired size. You can choose from three aspect ratios:
- Square (1:1)
- Portrait (4:5)
- Landscape (16:9)
Click on “next” when done tweaking dimensions for optimal results
You are now ready to finish editing this masterpiece!
add a filter
If you want a certain Instagram filter to be applied, pick it from the list on your computer. If not and have already edited this photo, don't worry! You can ignore this step and just click next anyway 🙂
add a tag, caption, location and share!
Share your creativity by posting to Instagram! It’s incredibly easy. Simply tag other users if you prefer, write the caption for them and add in locations too- that's it!. Click ‘Share' now so they can see what great things are happening at this very moment with their favorite people or places here on earth 🙂
And there you have it! You successfully posted an image or video on Instagram from the comfort of your computer.
All you need now is a social media account and an internet connection, then it’s time for your Instagram adventure.
